K. Scott Teeters’ “Illustrated Corvette Series” Book
CarTech Books has published a 144-page book version of Scott’s Illustrated Corvette Series column, as seen every month in VETTE Magazine since 1997. The scope of the book covers Corvettes from 1953 to 2010. Fans of the series will be able to enjoy almost everything they have read and seen over the years in one convenient book. The Illustrated Corvette Series, the book is now available on Amazon and signed by author at www.illustratedcorvetteseries.com.
The Illustrated Corvette Series is 144 Pages, measuring 8-1/2″ x 11″ with full-color soft cover. Approximately 133, one-page short stories – each with three illustrations make the bulk of the book along with introductions by the author and Vette Magazine founder, Marty Schorr.
This from Scott Teeters on the book, “I have really enjoyed working on this project. So that the word count is similar to the longer most recent articles I have rewritten many of the earlier stories and I have added some new art for my fans to enjoy.” The cover is in full-color and features all-new, color illustrations. What represent, in the author’s opinion, the best performing Corvettes of each generation are featured on the cover. The cover art includes:
- C1 – 1962 Fuelie with the Racer Kit Options
- C2 – 1967 L-71 Corvette
- C3 – 1969 ZL-1
- C4 – 1995 ZR-1
- C5 – 2004 Commemorative Edition Z06
- C6 – 2009 ZR1
While the magazine column was created in chronological order, the book version includes the following chapters:
- Production Corvettes
- Show Car Corvettes
- Experimental Corvettes
- Corvette Engines
- Tuner Corvettes
- Racing Corvettes
The page layout is a little different from the magazine column’s layout. The series header and numbers are gone. This allows space to make the side-view profile art much larger. Some pages feature added art images as well! The border is also be gone.

My comment is, have you read or heard of “The Corvette in Literature and Culture,” a cultural analysis of the car and its image? To be honest, it’s my book–what initially was my Ph.D. dissertation (it was accepted and approved, amazingly enough, to me, if nobody else).
I’m actually a car guy, so the degree in English was in quest of a job (hasn’t really happened yet), but my “car thing” led to writing about the Corvette and literature, books, movies, and so on.
It’s curious really, a scholarly book about America’s most famous car.
Hi Jerry,
So, you got your doctorate in Corvettes? Sorry, couldn’t help that, you have your Ph.D in English. I’m downloading your paper and am looking forward to reading it. I’ll be getting back to you. We’ll talk, Doc. – Scott.
PS – If I find any typos or grammar errors, do I get a t-shirt or something?
